| If just finished watching my grandson receive his red belt promotion from the recent belt testing he participated in. I realized that time really does "fly" by. It's been almost two years now that he has been taking TaeKwon Do. The change in these two years has been remarkable. You see, he has been diagnose with ADD, ADHD, Depression and Bipolar disorder. We had hoped that this particular martial arts program might help him with self-esteem among other possibilities. Not only has that occurred but, I've noticed a change in attitude toward discipline, and length of attention span. He has tired very hard to comply to the five tenants of TaeKwon Do and can even recite the entire definitions of each tenant. It is a slow process, but month after month, we see improvement from him along the way. A special thanks to The Acrovision Sports Center, Mr. Dan Graff, his instructor, and other instructors, Mr. Wright and Mr. Anderson for their encouragement and patience. With this wonderful facility and these fine accomplished black belts to help him, we hope he will maintain his interest and reach his goal of black belt. Lastly, having made many friends during his classes they are a solid support for his labors and he holds them in high regard. Thank you for sharing my thoughts on my grandson and TaeKwon Do. With all the continued aid from all the wonderful sources he has available, I look with confidence that he will someday soon reach the last plateau, Black Belt Promotion. Sincerely Yours, Nan Lunsford |

| TKD has done of course, what you would expect: making me healthy, but in addition, I have met some really great people that I wouldn't otherwise have encountered. My confidence has also improved in all things physical. I tripped on a step a few weeks agon (going up) and reflexively my hands grabbed the step above and slowly and with control I lowered myself down. I contribute this in part to the TKD training.

| Tae Kwon Do has allowed me the ability to exercise in ways which are not readily available in the real world or gy. It has allowed me to meet people and gain experience with dealing with people. It helps me as a type of outlet for pent up aggression. I guess you could say it helps cleanse the soul.

| I'm twice as old as some Black belts on our team. They weigh half as much. They're fast as lightning compared to my slow and awkward movements. I talk with their parents as equals, yet I bow to their children as suuperiors. At this age, what would promt a person to join the Martial Arts?
The initial consideration consisted of pure curiosity. When signing up for classes at our local community college, I was persuing the physical education section and noticed a Tae Kwon do class. The schedule matched mine so I figured I'd check it out. Two nights a week. No problem. If worst comes to worst, I'll just drop the class.
The class I'm in is considered an adult class. The majority of the adults in the class are still half my age, and "No", I don't consider them all adults. Being that the class was offered through the community college, the age range was about 17 to 23 years young. In the first class or two, I figured I was probably the oldest in the class, except for probably the two instructors. I was right. Except for one thing, I am only younger that one of the instructors.
The pace was a little faster than I had initially expected. The cardiovascular workout was definitely more than I had aniticipated. And when the buckets of sweat started pouring, I definitely felt old. With all these younger kids in the class, I'm finding that I have to work a little harder just to keep up. When I look around the class, they look like they're breathing pretty hard too.
A couple of weeks into the class and some of the kids are already starting to drop. It seems like every week there's a few more that don't answer when role is taken. By this point, I'm starting to get used to the workout. It's still tough, but I'm starting to realize that I can make it, and it's becoming easier every day. Every time I finish a class, I leave with a very satisfying feeling of accomplishment. Those young whippersnappers haven't beat me yet.
The final stage of my class and tenure as a white belt involves testing for my yellow belt. Initially I wasn't even planning on continuing past the end of the school term. Now I'm considering getting a yellow belt. I've learned all the skills that I need to progress. I've practiced the moves time and time again. Why not proceed to a yellow belt. Not for anyone else. Just for me. I think that once I get that, I'll even continue on for a while longer and see how I progress as a yellow belt.
I may be old compared to the rest of the class, but now I'm feeling younger than ever. Outside of class, at work, the store, local restaurants, and at the mall, I realize I'm probably as healthy or healthier than the next guy. I may be old for a white belt, but in public, I feel a whol lot younger.

| Sabum Nim,
I would like to take a minute to thank you for the positive impact you have on our lives. The stories you send have been helpful to all of us. The biggest turning point for us happend Wednesday morning. Zarina started the school year with enthusiasm and excitement. She promply rose at 6:30am ready to meet the day. The last few months have bee very unpleasant. I tried everything short of a stick of dynamite to get her out of bed. I tried being funny, tickling, singing, lotino (she hates it) even encouranging to dog to give her a complete wash down. When I tried to be strict and demanding it left us both feeling bad all day.
I can't tell you how much easier this makes my life and hers. She is a wonderful daughter, but we all have things we need to work on. Thank you for helping all of us to learn these valuable lessons.

| Dear Rich,
Happy Millennium! I want to express how thankful I am that my children are involved in programs at Acrovision. Sara loves gymnastics and in addition to helping her develop coordination and a strong body, she has also gained a sense of self-confidence.
Michael has thrived in the TKD program. The self discipline he has learned is immense. I am convinced that it has helped him achieve so highly in school. Michael holds you in extremely high regard, and has chosen you as a role model. I am pleased with his choice, as I know I couldn't have picked a better one. I wish you and Acrovision continued success and growth for many, many years. |

| My reasons for choosing this art are so varied and many. It's hard to pin it down. In the three weeks that I've been taking classes, my reasons are already changing and growing. From physical fitness and self-defense being my top priorities, it has now become more of a self-confidence and awareness booster than I could have hoped for. While the workouts are incredible (and incredibly hard when so out of shape), the "feel-good" after-effects stay on in mind, as well as body and are really what have become my true motivation for choosing Tae Kwon Do. |

| Well, the reason I began Tae Kwon Do is because I needed a positive way to focus my energy. This was especcially important to me at the time, because I had recently quit smoking. I feel I have gained quite a bit even in the short amount of time I've been doing TKD. It is defintely a great workout and helps me expend energy instead of penting it up and becoming a big ol' stress ball.
I'm enjoying now seeing what my body can do. Although at times, I'm still shy about doing things I think are beyond my bodies capabilities, I'm beginning to see past previously set limits.
The five teets of Tae Kwon Do: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control and Indomitable Spirit are important to me. They are part of my life both inside and outside of the do jang. Basically Tae Kwon Do is like life. It's all about learning and being ready for whatever comes your way and learning to adapt to the many variations of situations. |
